Wonder Woman 1984 Outfit Inspiration
Wonder Woman 1984 Vibes, ammiright?
Honestly, every look Gal Gadot wore in 1984 was PHENOMENAL, classy, and dare I say, timeless?
You can make this powerful look at home too!
Heart-Crazed Mask!
Remember my Galentine’s Day Heart-Crazed top?!
Welp, I went there and turned it into a mask!
For the top, I hot-glued a bunch of felt hearts to a shirt I was getting rid of, and just as I was about to throw it away, I decided to attempt making a mask out of it!
And it totally failed.
Galentine's Printable Greeting Card Freebie!
If you can’t tell, I love Galentine’s just about as much as Leslie Knope.
Print off one of these GAL PAL Cards and write a letter of encouragement to your best Gal Pal on the back! If you need ideas for how to encourage your gals, here’s a few ideas.
Why Galentine's Day is so Important this year.
This year, I’m celebrating some of the women I’ve walked closest with by sending them a note of encouragement and this heart garland via snailmail. The question I tried to answer in my note to them is “What am I praying for this person this year?” and “What have I seen in them that I love?”
Maybe these are questions your friends need to hear the answers to as well?
You Butter Believe It's not Mustard-- It's Butter Cream icing!
If you are or know a couple who is very independent of one another, who doesn’t often have shared interests, then you know finding something you both love is a big win.
And especially in our case, most of our arguments start in the kitchen because of one person critiquing the cooking, chopping, or dish-washing decisions of the other— so it’s nice to be in the kitchen in a peaceful way! Can you relate?
Stay Styled: February Themes
Every week I like to challenge myself to have an outfit theme! If you’re on Instagram I use the hashtag #staystyledwithstacie
Style challenges have helped me feel motivated to stay creative with my every day outfits, especially during the pandemic. Maybe you need some creativity motivation too? As this is the first month of the challenge, I’ve chosen themes that are a bit easier and flexible. But maybe the themes will become more challenging as we go?
I’m really excited for February’s themes! I’ve listed them out for you so you can plan ahead for them!
PANTS: January 31-February 6
JEANS: February 7-February 13
SKIRTS: February 14-February 20
SWEATERS: February 21-27
JEWELRY: February 28-March 6
And because I loved my vintage pants illustrations so much, I designed this mug with them!
I'll Have What She's Having | Re-Watching Sherlock
We decided to re-watch Sherlock this January.
It all started in December when we discussed what we thought our all-time favorite shows EVER are. Like, if we were forced to put together a top five- what would they be? Brett thought Sherlock might be one his favorite shows of all time, and I can’t blame him.
It’s a masterpiece.
The best part about watching it this time, was forgetting most of the episodes. I knew big plot points, but for the most part, I’d forgotten everything. Forgetting a TV show rarely happens to me, so this was sort of nice?
Brett’s question to me after the first season was, “Why do we like Sherlock?” And after watching every season, I’ll admit— I do like him. From the very beginning. Even when he’s being an ass hole and doesn’t realize it. I like his abruptness, blunt delivery, and his desire to bring justice.
How to Give Intentional Compliments + Encouragement to Others
A few ways to encourage your friends or family (maybe even strangers) verbally:
You are seen in this hurt, friend. I can’t fix it, but I see you and am sending virtual hand squeezes.
I see how you are [fill in the blank] to those around you and it encourages me to do the same.
You inspire me to [fill in the blank].
Illustrating Every Home We've Lived In...
Since it’s the beginning of 2021, I’ve been putting together a list of personal projects I want to complete before the year ends….
While the physical homes, apartments, and spaces we’ve lived in haven’t felt crazy special to me, something I think would be really fun to do is make small illustrations of every place Brett and I have ever lived (which would be funny, because we lived in two dorms when we first got married, so I would get to illustrate some dorms!). Since we’ve lived SO many places, it might take awhile to design each one, but I really think it could be fun. Even if I didn’t love the outside of every place we live, I might draw my favorite room of each place. I haven’t really decided. But I think it sounds like a fun project that could remind us of all our most cherished relational memories in those places.
Embroidered Slytherin Sweatshirt!
My first embroidery project EVER is an embroidered sweatshirt paying tribute to the House of Salazar Slytherin. I’m a crafty nerd y’all! Do you remember how you felt when you were sorted into your Hogwarts house? Were you excited? Did you feel right at home? Were you confused, but accepting? Did you try to take the test again to get different results?
Stay Styled During February with Weekly Outfit Themes!
As with all things, I’m not too hard on myself with this challenge and you shouldn’t be either. If the theme is pants, and I wear pants twice that week— THAT’S A WIN. If the theme is skirts, and I wear a skirt for half a day— THAT’S A WIN. If the theme is cozy and we lean into that real hard with jammies every day— WIN.
The point is to encourage intentional outfit curation and creativity— not to police ourselves.
Let’s get creative with our closets, yeah?
Ideas for Celebrating National Pop Corn Day!
I always LOVE a movie theatre popcorn + bubbly sugary soda. Movie theatre popcorn is nothing to me without extra butter and that buttery mystery salt.
Y’all, I sound a little crazy when I write it, but I get teary-eyed when I think about the first time I’ll be able to go back to a movie theatre. I’m thinking there will be a lot of “firsts” I’ll cry happy tears over. But fresh movie theatre popcorn and a soda will definitely be one of them.
A Coffee Giveaway + New Etsy Shop Launch!
You heard it right— I’m opening another Etsy shop!
With the success of The Vow Collective, I wanted to open an Etsy shop that allowed me to design anything I dream up, not just items related to Vows, weddings, and anniversaries!
With the creation of the Coffee Club and my love for mugs and sweatshirts, I decided to design a few apparel pieces and mug items I’m excited for you to be able to cozy up with this winter!
Vow Collective New Products + 2020 Projects
This year, I’ve had several clients purchase vow gifts for friends they are unable to celebrate with in person due to the pandemic. And that reminds me how special my job is. Creating gifts for people who miss intentional togetherness.
Falling in love in Denton, Texas
I fell in love with Brett in Denton, TX and it's always a treat to spend a day there drinking coffee, remembering conversations, uttering thanks for the people we were and the people we've become, mourning shops or restaurants we loved that have come and gone, and taking a few pictures in our favorite spots. We took our engagement pictures in Recycled Books eight years ago and while we've certainly bought a lot of books from them, we've never taken any pictures of us there again, so we set the timer and took a few of one another. It was special and I smiled a lot.
Easy Mickey Mouse Inspired Costume!
How to make this costume at home:
Sometimes we already have Disney-like costumes waiting in our closets we just have to discover them!
Mickey and Minnie’s usual color scheme is black, white, red, and yellow! Go find those colors in your own closet and pull them out to mix and match and see what your options are!
Polka dots are true to Minnie Mouse’s original dress! If you have any polka dotted pants, skirts, or tops in your closet— these could work!
If you don’t have Mickey’s yellow shoes, add a pop of yellow somewhere else! I added a yellow sweater and a red belt to my look!
Summer to Fall Transitional Outfit Ideas
Depending on where you live, you’re still in shorts + sleeveless territory, or, you’ve fully transitioned to sweater weather— no matter what season you’re in, there are so many ways to incorporate that “autumn” vibe into your every day clothing.
Every year I have a million ideas for transitioning my summer clothing to Fall clothing, so this year, I thought I’d share FIVE of my favorite tips and ideas!
Bambi Halloween Costume and Pinafore Dress
I’m no deer in the headlights, sweetie— I’m cottagecore Bambi. Watch out Disney, we’re taking a sad story and making her cuteeee.
