FAQs

Safety:

Please ensure your health is at superstar status before you show up to a session. If you are feeling unwell, please let Stacie know so she can do her best to reschedule your session for a time when you are feeling better. Stacie works with several different clients every day and she does not wish to pass on any type of sickness to her other clients. If you begin to feel unwell  or test positive for Covid-19 a day or two after your session with Stacie, please let her know so she can properly inform her other clients and get tested.

While most sessions are outdoors and maskless, Stacie does ask that her clients wear masks when indoors with her or while ride sharing/sharing public transportation of any kind.

If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask when outdoors and taking it off briefly for photos, please let Stacie know. She is happy to wear her mask and mirror your own comfort. She is happy to maintain a 6 foot distance.

Stacie is both vaccinated and boosted for Covid-19. She will not inquire about your vaccination status.

Dessert and Coffee Sessions include food and drinks that all go untouched by Stacie. She makes sure to sanitize her hands before carrying your coffee to you. Once your dessert is boxed up at the pastry shop, Stacie does not touch it or open.

What Style is Stacie’s Photography?

Warm and moody. Stacie photographs laughs just as much as she photographs your in-between faces. She loves giving you prompts for how to move your body. Her style of posing isn’t as much by telling, but by asking questions based on what makes you feel comfortable and working from there. Her prompts encourage ongoing action and movement that makes you feel natural and fluid. She shoots 20% of your session candid and 80% of it posed, but she bets you won’t remember which photos were candid or posed because it will all feel like you just took a long walk with and old friend.  Expect a handful of black and white images, a few artistically blurry, and a handful of intimate up close moments and a few landscape moments to give a sweeping narrative of you in this space.

Stacie photographs with a Canon 5d mark iii and uses her 35mm, 50 mm, and 85 mm lenses.

Stacie does not Photoshop your body, hair, teeth, or Smooth out anything.

If you are looking for body-changing air-brushed portraits, please find someone else. While Stacie does her best to edit out people or distracting items from your portraits (especially in busy city and Central Park), she is also dedicated to keeping your moments as real as possible. Her edits apply to the coloring, lighting, and vibes of the photos, not the changing of bodies, hair, or faces.

Who is Stacie for?

I’m for New York locals and tourists. If you want to dress up your whole family and take them out to eat pizza while I tag along and snag photos (both posed and candid) along the way, I’m game. I’m here for the solo traveler who wants to document their time in this iconic city (but who would also enjoy a chat and coffee with a local, that’s me!).  Stacie photographs single parents and girls’ trips to the city. I value the slowness every moment has to offer, and approach wedding days with just as much care and intention as I do slower portrait sessions. I love helping couples plan engagement portraits or surprise engagements.

All are welcome: Locals, tourists, families, couples, businesses, organizations, pets + parents, or individuals. Central Park Sessions are for guests of all ethnicities, sexual orientations, body types, or genders. I celebrate diverse guests and am always working to make sure I am being a caring and inclusive photographer.

What is the overall vibe of the session?

Frankly, Stacie’s best reviews come from people who allowed a 20-30 minute window at the beginning of their session to chat with Stacie over tea, coffee, dessert, whatever strikes your fancy. Breaking the ice is easy for Stacie, but she knows it might not always feel that way for her clients. She wants you to feel known before she starts taking photos of you.

Once you’ve both gotten to know each other a bit, that’s when the vibe is fun, goofy, chill, and unrushed. Sessions that are hurried, are possible, but Stacie knows you will enjoy your time with your kids, significant other, dog, friends, if you slow the first part of the session down to establish relational ties first.

When will I receive my photos?

For one to two hour sessions, you can expect your photos one week after your session. 5 teaser photos will be delivered day of.

For Weddings and engagements, you can expect your photos 3-6 weeks after your event. 5 teaser photos will be delivered the week after your wedding.

Cancelling/Weather:

Schedule your session closer to the beginning of your NYC visit just in case we have to reschedule because of weather. I’ll reach out if weather is looking problematic 24 hrs. before our session. Only Weather Cancellations can be rescheduled or be fully refunded.

What to wear:

One outfit change is available for one hour sessions; Keep it or casual or dress it up. Whatever makes you feel alive. Be mindful of Weather and have comfy shoes you can walk paths, hills, and stairs in. Accessibility photos are available upon request. If you are bringing an extra bag of clothing, please keep it easy to carry or set down when snapping pictures. I can carry lightweight bags while I snap pictures, but only if they’re lightweight.

Giving Back:

Every year Stacie donates a percentage of her earnings to the Central Park Conservancy, the non-profit that preserves and takes care of the park on a daily basis a way of thanking the Conservancy for providing beautiful moments for your pictures.
