Taylor Swift Vows and City Hall Elopement in NYC | Tori and Alec
As an elopement and micro-wedding photographer in New York City, I have had the incredible opportunity to witness and document the intimate moments that make each couple's love story so special and unique to them. Recently, I had the honor of capturing Tori and Alec's wedding day at Manattan’s City Hall. First, they exchanged their vows in the winter morning sun, privately, while morning commuters hurriedly walked by. They wiped one another’s tears as they shared their gratitude for one another and praised each other’s presence in their relationship.
What made this exchange even more special was Tori's choice to conclude her vows with a Taylor Swift lyric (I won’t say which one because I think it’s special for her to keep those words for herself) – a touch that brought tears to both her eyes and mine. I seriously lost it when I heard her quote Taylor Swift. I’m a Swiftie and it just felt so special to hear such meaningful lyrics be said during a vow exchange. It wasn’t cheesy, it was really just beautiful and romantic.
After the emotional vows, we made our way to City Hall for a quick and intimate wedding ceremony. Despite the morning sounds of the city waking up, Tori and Alec remained present with each other, savoring the moment and embracing the significance of their commitment. This elopement was a private celebration just for them, allowing them to connect on a deeper level without feeling overly conscious of anyone else but the camera. They knew they wanted to celebrate their love just the two of them, and one day they’ll celebrate with all their loved ones. But it was really beautiful to see them celebrate their love as a unit.
Following the City Hall ceremony, we embarked on a journey to the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art. The train ride provided an opportunity for Tori and Alec to bask in the joy of their newlywed status and for us to take some vibey romantic train photos. Arriving at the Met, we captured really sweet artistic museum wedding photos, creating timeless memories against the backdrop of this cultural landmark.
My philosophy as an intimate wedding photographer in NYC is to create an environment where couples can be fully present with each other. For couples considering a quick elopement or micro wedding in NYC, my goal is to capture the raw, genuine emotions without them feeling overly aware of the camera. The result is a collection of photos that tell a story – a visual narrative of love, joy, and connection. And I think you see those here in Tori and Alec’s visual narrative.
If you're a newly engaged couple dreaming of an intimate celebration in the heart of New York City, consider giving time for just the two of you to enjoy and be present with one another. I think it’s one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself on your wedding day.
