I have an awesome Celebrity Radar, but I never use it.

I don’t know who I’m making this list for. Probably myself. It’s just crazy how many I’ve seen, oftentimes, I notice them when no one else does. This feels like a special talent I didn’t go to university for.

I call it my Celebrity Radar.

I’ve got two lists: The first is celebrities I’ve seen as I’m out in the wild going about my every day activities. The second list, is celebrities I’ve seen in shows.

And if you know me, you know I have a pretty big rule: I don’t talk to them unless they talk to me. I think it’s an unspoken rule for local New Yorkers not to talk to celebrities. But for sure it’s my rule.

I don’t want anything from them. I want them to enjoy going about their day, feeling normalcy. Meanwhile, I’m just having an inner freak out.

Celebrities I’ve Seen in the Wild in NYC (I’m missing so many, but this is what I can remember):

Elliot Page - walking his dog in the park.

Anna Wintour - Was at a broadway show I was at.

Sarah Bareilles - walking her dog in her old neighborhood.

Elle Fanning - On my plane to the US from France

Jason Isaacs - I was being very New Yorker-y trying to quickly get around a crowd of people in Time Square and almost ran right into him. He was also trying to get around the crowd. Because they were crowding him.

Eva Noblezada and Reeve Carney - I went to see Oklahoma and they happened to be sitting in front of me. Damn me, that was a great Oklahoma.

Hoda- walking with her kids down the street. Hoda is a literal light of kindness and joy.

Jake Gyllenhall- He was also seeing a play I was seeing. Waiting for Gadot. It was great. But he wasn’t wearing a red scarf and I felt like that might disappoint the Swifties.

Melissa Tomei- Just walked by her one night as my husband and I were eating ice cream.

Adam Driver- It was a very early morning in Brooklyn and I was on my way to a photoshoot and he was taking a walk through his neighborhood.

Amy Schumer- She photobombed one of my wedding client’s photos.

Jen Hatmaker- if you grew up in the church like I did, you’d also consider her a Christian celebrity.

Celebrities in Shows or Comic Cons (one again, not an acutally full list):

Sutton Foster

Hugh Jackman- I hated when I saw him because he came out of the stage door and everyone had their phones in his face and he was just happy to chat with people, but it’s like people didn’t know how to chat. They just wanted a video.

Darcy Carden- If you saw Thanksgiving play… you know it was wild.

Daniel Radcliffe- Merrily We Roll Along. I’m changed FOREVER this show wrecked me.

Jonothan Groff- Sameeeee.

Justin Guarini from Justin to Kelly and American Idol-  My gosh, this man can sing and dance and steal a show.

Zachary Levi- I’m sorry I didn’t pay $$ to see Zachary Levi, caues I was literally wearing a Chuck Tshirt and had just read his book. It’s great, you should read it.

All the Today Show cast- I got to photograph Mindy and Ben’s wedding as it aired live on The Today Show earlier this year!

Stephen Colbert- The Stephen Colbert Show, y’alllll. Had some Jollie Bee after.

Joe Lock- I’m a sucker for Heartstopper and it was so fun to see Joe in Sweeney Todd, similarly..l.

Gatan Matarazzo- I’m a sucker for Stranger Things and it was a JOY to see Gatan doing his Broadway thing in Sweeney Todd.

Gavin Creele- Walk on By the Musical MY GOSH THIS STORY WAS FABULOUS.
