Holiday Ornaments and Greenery | DIY

neutral Christmas Decor for under $25 with these clear ornaments I found at Michaels,

I love Holiday Decorating.

This year, we don’t have a budget for Holiday decorating, so I’m getting extra crafty with what we have in our craft crate and with the small budget ($25) I set aside for my Holiday Photoshoot for my new Christmas Collection. It’s been really fun to think creatively and outside the box this season! Small budgets just mean bigger imagination and scrappy creativity. I love it.

In general, I’m not a huge fan of Christmas Reds and Greens. I’m not going to use the word “hate”, but I heavily despise bringing those colors into my home. I love seeing them in other peoples’ homes, in Christmas lights, in shops, or in THE Macys here in New York, but I hate seeing them in my home. In the past, Christmas decor has made my home feel cluttered, and I find I’m ready for it to come down when the season is over. This season, I decided to only decorate with Christmas decor that matched our room colors already. So, neutrals, pinks, and forest greens. And, very minimally.

We had a bunch of greenery left over that didn’t fit into the ornaments, so I threw it in this serving tray we have and every morning I put the tray on our bed after we make it and light the candle (I also snagged at TJ Maxx). It makes our home feel…

What’s awesome about these DIY Clear ornaments, is how easy it is to put any color inside them. If I change my mind one day and decide to add red confetti to tDIy he inside, I can.

Decorating our Home in Neutral Holiday Colors

I put together our neutral Christmas Decor for under $25 with these clear ornaments I found at Michaels, combined with a small box of assorted Holiday Greenery I found at TJ Maxx. The Holiday Greenery was a potpourri of some sort that I broke up into smaller bits and slipped into the top opening of the clear ornament. I also took some of my packaging string and threw it in.

After our photoshoot, I hung our ornaments on our cactus and called it a day. They look FUN on the cactus, but not distracting. That’s how they functioned in our photoshoot as well, and I loved that.

Can you imagine all the fun things you could put in these clear ornaments?! I was trying SO hard not to buy a bunch of fillers for them. But I do think a glitter or confetti of some sort would look really fun!

How are you decorating your home for the Holidays this year? Do you decorate in traditional Christmas colors or do you try to mix things up every year?
