One Week Jewelry Challenge | #jewelrychallenge

a one week jewelry challenge

I love putting together outfits, but I never seem to have the motivation to consider jewelry after all the effort I feel like I’m putting into my hair, makeup, and outfits. As I’ve been planning this jewelry challenge, I’ve also been considering why I don’t wear it often. For some reason, I equate jewelry with fanciness. If I wear jewelry, I feel weird not having the rest of my outfit, hair, and makeup on as well. So, I opt to not wear it most days. And if I do wear it, I’m one of those people who puts on a necklace and is too lazy to take it off, so I end up wearing it a month or two. Ya feel me?

To sum up my excuse: Wearing comfortable clothing usually takes precedence these days, and jewelry just doesn’t fit into the “Comfort” category, in my opinion. Maybe that should be my next challenge? Wear jewelry no matter what comfy clothes I’m wearing.

This challenge isn’t just about jewelry. I want to be more aware of what I own and use it. That’s really what this comes down to. That’s why I created this jewelry challenge! I want to take cool items I’ve forgotten about and give them new life.

So let’s talk about what I’ve chosen… Every piece has a little story.

The pieces of jewelry I’ve chosen for this challenge are pieces I’ve always wanted to wear! I didn’t grow up wearing pins or broaches, but I think they were such a fun idea for cardigans back in the day! The majority of what I’ve chosen, is pins.

Pictured below, from top to bottom and left to right: A White flower pin, a Betty pin (my Yiayia’s first name! Not some weird Riverdale reference), a Greek Bust pin (I’m Greek! Surprise!), a cross-stitch ring (It toppled over in this picture, but it’s super cute and I can’t wait for you to see it!), a clip-on bow-tie for my hair (yeah, I’m counting this as jewelry!), and two necklaces! And finally, two fly pins, for either side of a collar.

Maybe you are a jewelry pro and you don’t need this challenge, but maybe you have something sitting in your closet forgotten or unworn…. Challenge yourself to wear it! And if you don’t find the time to wear it, consider donating it and freeing up some space in your closet.

Most importantly, I’d love for you to participate in this challenge with me!

How to participate:

  1. Pick out a few pieces of jewelry you haven’t worn in awhile

  2. Set out the pieces you’ve chosen; somewhere you’ll notice them and remember to add them to your wardrobe.

  3. Pick things that are easier to match with outfits you’re already comfortable wearing or know you’ll be wearing.

  4. Before you leave the house, take a picture of you in your jewelry of the day! Post it on social media and be sure to tag #jewelrychallenge and @stacie.stine and I’ll repost and celebrate you in my stories! Yay!
