Jasper and Melissa | Central Park Dog Photography

I spent an hour or two in Central Park with Melissa and Jasper and I love how their photos turned out. Sometimes slower walks lead to more play and a more relaxed session, which, in my opinion, always yields better photos than rushed sessions.

Things you should know about Melissa. She’s got an eye for a good look (anytime I see her I’m like, ahhh, that’s such a cute ‘fit), she and Jasper are one of the coolest human dog friendships I’ve seen, she’s a funny and genuinely intentional person, and I’m SO excited that she lives on the Upper West Side so I can be her friend.

I’ve walked the city twice with Melissa, and I’ve never seen someone get stopped so much by strangers who have questions about her dog or want to pet her dog. Jasper is a big cute floppy-eared dude and his beautiful eyes will see right through you to your soul, so, it makes sense people want to connect with him. I was telling my husband about our walk and I referred to Jasper as the most famous dog on the Upper West Side.

I genuinely hope I have more pet sessions in my future, because photographing the inner goober in every human and dog just sounds like so much fun. I hope Melissa can always look back on these and be reminded of how sweet her pet friendship with Jasper is.

It’s fall and the leaves are gorgeous—Don’t you think it’s time to book your own human or pet session?
